A Kolors Decorating Christmas: Paint, Pine Needles & Plenty of Laughs

There’s something magical about this time of year.
Maybe it’s the fairy lights, maybe it’s the smell of cinnamon…
or maybe it’s the fact that Jessica and I somehow manage to decorate people’s homes and sing Christmas songs at full volume without a single radio between us.
(If you’ve ever hired us in December, I’d like to apologise for the Mariah moments, but also, you’re welcome.)
As the year winds down, we’ve been busy working across Farnham, Camberley, Fleet, Windlesham, Bagshot, Guildford and all the surrounding areas — helping people get their homes feeling fresh and ready for cosy nights in, visiting family, and the occasional festive meltdown.
Here’s a little peek into a Kolors Decorating Christmas…
🎄 1. The Pre-Christmas Refresh Panic
Every December, there’s always one client who rings with, “Zo! Can you come tomorrow? My mother-in-law cannot see these walls!”
We’ve all been there.
Sometimes all a room needs is:
• a quick woodwork refresh
• a tidy-up of scuffed walls
• a new colour on one feature wall
• or simply better lighting
It’s amazing how a small tweak can make a space feel instantly calmer and more “Christmassy ready”.
🐾 2. Pickle’s favourite time of year
Pickle absolutely LOVES Christmas decorating days.
He trots in with a wagging tail, checks the room like he’s head of the festive department, and usually ends up sitting in the one spot we’re about to paint.
He also insists on inspecting ribbon, gift boxes and any snack left within sniffing distance.
We’ve now learned to put the mince pies high.
💚 3. Our December tradition: Cosy colours everywhere
This season, nearly everyone we’ve helped has gone for colours that feel warm, soft, and cocooning.
Think:
• deep olive greens
• warm neutrals
• soft sage
• gentle taupes
• creamy whites instead of cold brilliant whites
They pair beautifully with fairy lights, candles, greenery and that cosy “home for Christmas” feeling.
😂 4. Singing, laughter, and a whole lot of chaos
Let’s be honest — if you hire Kolors Decorating in December, you’re not getting quiet, calm tradespeople slipping in and out unnoticed.
You’re getting:
🎶 full-volume Christmas music (mostly sung by us)
😂 laughter that echoes down the hallway
🐾 Pickle supervising everything
💛 the warmest, kindest, most joyful vibe you can imagine
We might not be peaceful, but we are a good time.
And we work our socks off to make your home look gorgeous for the holidays.
🕯️ 5. Simple festive decorating tips from us
You don’t need to redecorate your whole home for it to feel special.
Here are a few easy wins:
• One quick feature wall
Deep greens, soft clay colours, or rich navy instantly add atmosphere.
• Freshen the woodwork
Crisp skirting and door frames make the whole room look new.
• Warm-toned bulbs
They make ANY colour scheme feel cosy.
• Garlands with eucalyptus & fairy lights
Beautiful, gentle, and never overpowering.
• Style what you already have
A simple bowl of baubles, a touch of greenery, or a candle cluster works wonders.
❄️ Thank You From Me, Jessica & Pickle
This year has been full of colour, laughter, growth, and so many beautiful projects across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
We’ve decorated homes in Farnham, Aldershot, Fleet, Camberley, Frimley, Bagshot, Windlesham, Ascot, Bracknell, Sandhurst, Guildford, Godalming, Haslemere, Hindhead, and everywhere in between.
Thank you for supporting our little all-female decorating team, for trusting us with your spaces, and for welcoming Pickle into your homes like he’s part of the family (which, let’s be honest, he thinks he is).
Wishing you the cosiest, happiest, warmest Christmas —
full of colour, calm, laughter, and maybe the odd glass of Baileys.
Merry Christmas from Kolors Decorating!
Zo, Jessica & Pickle 🐾
